Coastal Carolina University adjunct professor Shawn Copeland, CCU music faculty member Amy Hardison Tully and guest artist Renee Jackson will perform a recital of classical music in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Recital Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. A ticket is required.

Copeland will play clarinet, Jackson will accompany him on piano and Tully will play flute. The trio will perform a variety of compositions, including: “Deuxieme Sonate” by Francois Devienne, “Night Song” by Lowell Liebermann, “Fantasy Pieces” by Robert Schumann and “Introduction” by Charles-Marie Widor.

Copeland earned a bachelor’s in music from Stetson University and a doctorate of musical arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of clarinet at High Point University and CCU.

Tully is an assistant professor of music at CCU, teaching flute and musical history. She earned a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, a master’s in musicology from Northwestern University and a Ph.D in flute performance from the University of South Carolina. She also serves as director of the Coastal Flute Choir.

Jackson earned a bachelor’s in music from the Oberlin Conservatory in Oberlin, Ohio and a master’s in music from the University of Michigan. She currently is an active member and adjudicator for the National Guild of Piano Teachers.

Ticket prices are: general admission, $3; CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students, free with ticket (one per valid ID); CCU and HGTC faculty/staff, free with ticket (two per valid ID); children (ages 10 and under), free with ticket (must be accompanied by an adult.)
