Coastal Carolina University is hosting a one-day Farmers Market on Wednesday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Spadoni Park. The campus community is invited faculty to browse and purchase local produce and products. The public is also invited.

In cooperation with the Waccamaw Market Cooperative, the Farmers Market will include a variety of local, seasonal items available for purchase. Payments in debit/credit, cash and check are accepted.

Activities include:

* Cooking demonstrations by Aramark

* Sunflower seed planting

* Recipe ideas

* Free reusable bags

* Information about sustainability at CCU

"The opportunity to invite local farmers to share their produce and products with our campus community is tremendous," said Jennifer Sellers, sustainability coordinator. "This event will help promote the quality and value in a local, fresh Farmers Market to the university audience. I'm hopeful we will host another one in the beginning of the fall semester, too."
