CCU student music groups perform at Spectrum Concert

Music from Coastal Carolina University's student musical groups will be showcased at the annual Spectrum Concert on Friday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Wheelwright Auditorium. The concert is open to the public.

This year's event features music groups from the CCU Band program. The concert features includes an hour of uninterrupted music, including everything from guitars and drums, with genres from classical to jazz to show tunes. The CCU Symphonic Band provides the grand finale, performing the "Colonel Bogey March," from the epic World War II movie, "The Bridge on the River Kwai." CCU professor of music James Tully will direct.

The Spectrum Concert is a fundraiser in support of the Coastal Band program. This joint effort between the CCU Bands and CCU's Office for Philanthropy provides an opportunity for patrons of CCU to see the direct effects of their generosity.

Ticket prices are: general admission, $9; CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College, $3 (one ticket per valid ID); CCU and HGTC faculty/staff, $3 (two per valid ID); alumni, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members and senior citizen (ages 65 and older), $7; Teens (ages 11 to 17), $3. Children ages 10 and under are admitted free with adult supervision.

CCU's Wheelwright Auditorium is located on 107 Founders Drive on the CCU campus.
