Plate heads marketing, communication efforts at CCU

William M. (Bill) Plate Jr. has been named to the position of Associate Vice President for University Communication at Coastal Carolina University. He assumed the position on Jan. 7.

Plate is responsible for leading all functions of CCU's Office of University Communication, including the university's advertising and strategic marketing efforts, news and public affairs, publications, brand management, television production and printing.

He was previously the director of University Marketing & Creative Services at Florida Atlantic University, where he developed and managed communications and marketing strategies for the institution's 22 divisions and colleges. He has also served as a marketing research consultant and won several photography awards when he managed the visual communications department at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Plate earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University.
