CCU to host 14th annual holiday concert

Coastal Carolina University's Brass Quintet, Chamber and Concert Choirs will perform at the annual holiday concert on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Conway. General admission is $15.

Under the direction of Frances T. Sinclair, associate professor at CCU, the choirs will perform classical and traditional holiday music. Selections will include "Hodie, Christus natus est" by Healey Willan, "Awake, Arise and Hail the Morn," "The Blessings of Mary" and "The Sunny Bank" by Mack Wilberg, "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Ralph Blane and Hugh Martin, "Carol of the Birds" by Robert Vickery, "Mid-Winter" by Bob Chilcott, "O Holy Night" by Adolphe Adam, "Dormi, Jesu" by Mark Sirett, "The Christmas Song" by Mel Tormé, "Winter Wonderland" Felix Bernard and Richard Smith, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" by John Rutter. In keeping with tradition, George Frideric Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" will conclude the show.

Sinclair, director of choral activities at the University, earned a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master's degree in choral conducting from Florida State University. Sinclair received her Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Admission for CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students is $5 and $10 for CCU and HGTC faculty/staff, alumni, OLLI members and senior citizens. Children ages 1-10 are $5.
