Coastal Carolina University will return to normal operations tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 31. Please use caution traveling to and around campus.

Liberal leave will be authorized for faculty and staff who are concerned about safe travel. Students who are concerned about safe travel should contact their professors and arrange to make up class work.

Coastal Carolina University will resume normal operations Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. All faculty and staff will report to work at that time, and students will report to classes.

Facilities crews will prepare walkways with salt and sand. However, some sidewalks and roadways will be icy, so please use caution traveling to and around campus.

Class times: Any class that normally begins at 9:25 a.m. will begin at 10 a.m. and end at its normal time.

The following campus services will open at the times listed below. All other services will begin operating at 10 a.m.

Hicks Dining Hall - 8 a.m.

UP Café - 8 a.m.

Pie by Night - Open for the Women's Basketball game

All classes at all Coastal Carolina University locations will be canceled Wednesday, Jan. 29, due to the winter storm.

The governor has declared a state of emergency for the state of South Carolina. University offices will be closed except for essential services. Essential services personnel will be contacted by their supervisors.

An accumulation of sleet, freezing rain and ice is expected in the campus area tonight and part of tomorrow. Please use caution and stay indoors as much as possible. Sidewalks will be slippery, and roadways will be dangerous.

The following student services will be available:

Hicks Dining Hall will be open until 8 p.m. tonight and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. University Place Café will be open until 9 p.m. tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. All other food service venues will be closed.

Kimbel Library will be closed Wednesday.

Shuttles and buses will not be in operation Wednesday.

The Office of Student Health Services will be open from noon until 3 p.m. Wednesday for immediate health concerns.

Campus Recreation will be open from noon until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

CHANT 411 is available for phone calls, emails and texts until 10 p.m. tonight and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.

All classes and events at all Coastal Carolina University locations will be canceled Tuesday, Jan. 28, due to the impending winter storm.

University offices will be closed Tuesday except for essential services.

University officials will make a decision Tuesday afternoon about Wednesday classes and events.

Hicks Dining Hall will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. University Place Café will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday. All other food service venues will be closed.

Kimbel Library will close at 2 a.m. Tuesday

Shuttles and buses will not be in operation on Tuesday.

The Office of Student Health Services will remain open Tuesday.

Campus Recreation will be open from noon until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
