"Crimes of the Heart," a tragicomedy by Beth Henley, will be presented by Coastal Carolina University's Department of Theatre from Thursday, Feb. 20, to Saturday, March 1, at the 79th Avenue Theatre. Tickets are now available.

"Crimes of the Heart" is a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about three eccentric sisters who reunite at their grandfather's home in Hazelhurt, Miss., when one of them gets in trouble. Each is dealing with her own serious but humorous troubles including their priggish cousin Chick and a lawyer who is falling in love with the youngest sister.

Described as "Southern Gothic screwball comedy," the play is directed by Steve Earnest, a professor of theatre, assisted by musical theatre student Conor Devoe.

Ashley Reese is stage manager, with assistant stage managers Brian Marshall and Shelbie Brakefield. Production crew members are Gregg Buck, set designer; Todd Wren, lighting designer; Telvin Armour, sound designer; Jack DiCarlo, props coordinator; and Meghan Voyack, props assistant.

Cast members are Melissa Cabey, Gabrielle Harker, Suzanna Grindle, Mary Hannah Lewis, Garrett McCann and Nathan Smith. Understudy cast members are freshman BFA actors Emily Pfeiffer, Kathryn Albers, Meg Groves, Kelly Kapur, Daniel Pippert and Peter Seifarth. The understudy performance ill be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. The understudy show is sfree to the public.
