Coastal Carolina University Head Football Coach Joe Moglia will present the key address at CCU's Celebration of Inquiry (COI) conference at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, at Wheelwright Auditorium. The public is invited to the free event, but a ticket is required.

The 2014 Celebration of Inquiry is a four-day conference that runs from March 31 through April 3. The conference features invited speakers, along with student and faculty presentations and entertainment, based on the theme "The Human Spirit: Overcoming Adversity to Accomplish Greatness."

Moglia, who is chairman of the board for Ameritrade, will speak about his struggles and how he overcame challenges to reach his goals.

In his first season at CCU, Moglia led the Chanticleers to a conference championship and to the Division I playoffs. He was Conference Coach of the Year and a finalist for National Coach of the Year. In his second year as a coach, the Chanticleers won the Big South Conference and were nationally ranked in the top ten.

In the business world, Moglia was at Merrill Lynch for 17 years before becoming the CEO at TD Ameritrade in 2001. By 2008, in the midst of a global financial crisis, the firm had its sixth record year in a row, grew its market cap from $700 million to $10 billion and provided its shareholders with 500 percent financial return. In 2008, he stepped down as CEO, became chairman of the board and returned to football. Moglia earned a doctorate of commerce from Bellevue University and a doctorate of humane letters from Fordham University.
