St. Anthony and poverty discussion to be held at CCU
Jeffry Halverson, assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, will be discussing the Christian views on poverty by focusing on the figure of St. Anthony the Great.
St. Anthony was a fourth century Egyptian ascetic recognized as the "father" of Christian monasticism. Famed for his life of humility and isolation in the inhospitable Egyptian desert, the study of St. Anthony reveals a great deal about the role of poverty in Christian devotional life.
Lackey Chapel is located at 105 University Drive on the corner of University Drive and University Boulevard in Conway.
