Pianist Catherine Kautsky to perform at CCU
Kautsky has performed throughout the United States and overseas as a recitalist, soloist with orchestras, and as a chamber musician. She has appeared in venues such as Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Recital Hall in New York; Jordan Hall and the Gardner Museum in Boston; the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.; and the Cultural Center in Chicago.
Kautsky was awarded the 2005 Arts Institute Creative Arts Award at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her ability to connect music with other disciplines, mainly literature. Kautsky has traveled extensively, performing in France and England, and performing concerts and holding classes most recently in China, Korea and South Africa. Her articles have appeared in such journals as Clavier, American Music Teacher, and International Piano.
CCU and Horry-Georgetown Technical College students and faculty tickets are $3. Children are admitted free with a ticket and must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets may be purchased from the Wheelwright Box Office prior to the performance or Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Recital Hall is located in room 152 of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the CCU campus. Parking is available adjacent to Edwards College or at Brittain Hall adjacent to Edwards.
