New Java Jabber aimed at first-year students

August 13, 2014

"How to Survive the Trials and Tribulations of Your First Year In College" is the topic for a Java Jabber discussion on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 3:30 p.m. at the Bryan Information Commons at Coastal Carolina University. The discussion is designed to help first-time college students acclimate to the university environment.

Sponsored by the Jackson Family Center for Ethics & Values, the talk will cover student academic success, social health and taking advantage of collegiate opportunities. Experienced CCU sophomore, junior and senior students will speak about challenges they encountered during their freshman year. Participants in the talk will receive a "Java Buck" worth $1 off any purchase at the Starbucks on campus.

The Bryan Information Commons is part of the Kimbel Library.

Admission is free, and no tickets are required. For more information about the event, call 843-349-4149 or visit coastal.edu/jacksoncenter.
