The presentation will be at Coastal Carolina University's Horry County Archives Center in Kimbel Library. The talk is free and open to the public.

"Mansfield Plantation" was published in August 2014.

Located on the banks of the Black River, Mansfield Plantation is one of the best-preserved antebellum rice plantations. In 1718, it started as a 500-acre land grant given to a small group of villagers near Georgetown. The plantation grew to encompass nearly 1,000 acres.

The Archives Center is in Kimbel Library Room 220, located at 376 University Blvd. in Conway. For more information, contact the center at 843-349-4056.
