Coastal Carolina University has been named one of the Most Affordable Online Colleges in South Carolina for 2015. To be eligible for consideration, the schools had to be fully accredited and offer at least one fully online degree program.

CCU was fourth on the list following Limestone College, Anderson University and the University of South Carolina Upstate. CCU placed ahead of Lander University, Southern Wesleyan University and Charleston Southern University.

The mission of Coastal's Office of Online Learning (COOL) is to advance the University's ability to offer high-quality online courses and programs that focus on in-demand content areas aligned to the academic strengths of the University. COOL offers four undergraduate programs, six graduate programs and numerous individual courses.

OnlineColleges.net is a resource to help students find the most affordable and most complete programs available online. The site has a curated list of scholarships available to S.C. students with a database of nearly 20,000 general scholarships and a searchable database of all accredited online colleges in the state.

Affordability rankings are compiled using data from the National Center for Education Statistics. Online data tools are utilized to create a master list of accredited, nonprofit schools offering degree programs online. Each school that made the list offers a range of programs that can be completed entirely online. Rates are taken directly from the schools' websites. For comparison, the annual rates for these schools are calculated by estimating a full-time annual course load of 24 credit hours.
