Tickets go on sale Aug. 10 for Lee Brice concert at CCU

August 7, 2015

Country singer/songwriter Lee Brice will perform at Coastal Carolina University's HTC Center on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:15 p.m. Country singer Ricky Young will open the concert. Tickets, which go on sale Aug. 10 at ticketreturn.com, are $50 for standing room, $55 for back end zone seats, $60 for bronze seats and $65 for teal seats.

Proceeds from the concert will go to scholarships for CCU students.

Brice won the Single Record of the Year Award at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) for the title track of his latest album, "I Don't Dance." Two weeks later, he performed "Drinking Class" on NBC's "The Voice." The song became a Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Gold certified digital track, marking his second RIAA certification in less than six months.

A native of Sumter, Brice released his debut album, "Love Like Crazy," in 2009. The title track reached No. 3 on the Billboard Country chart. In 2012, he topped his own success with "Hard 2 Love," an album that went Gold and featured three No. 1 Country singles, including "I Drive Your Truck," which won Song of the Year at both the ACM and Country Music Association awards shows.

Brice first began making his mark in Nashville in 2007, co-writing Garth Brooks' "More Than a Memory," which was the first single in the history of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart to debut at No. 1. Brice went on to co-write songs for Jason Aldean, Adam Gregory, Eli Young Band and Tim McGraw, among others, which led to a signing deal of his own.

Young, a South Carolina native, opened for CCU's Darius Rucker concert Aug. 23, 2014. He is one of the fastest rising country music stars.

Doors open at 6 p.m.

Pre-paid premium parking for $20 and $15 close to HTC will be available online only. $5 parking will be available the day of show on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking in CCU's 544 lot will be free. Shuttle buses will be running prior to and after the concert.
