CCU embraces diversity at Cultural Celebration

Coastal Carolina University will host its annual Cultural Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spadoni Park on the main campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The festival highlights the history, music, dance, art and food from countries and cultures all around the world. Food vendors will be on hand, along with arts, crafts and jewelry on display and for sale.

Entertainment for the event will include:

* Conway Bag Pipes, 11:30 a.m.

* Aroha Latin Dance Company, a group from Raleigh, N.C., that specializes in Latin dances, 11:45 a.m.

* Cover Drive, a four-piece Caribbean band from Barbados, noon.

* Aroha Latin Dance, 12:30 p.m.

* Cover Drive, 1 p.m.

A number of Coastal Carolina student organizations will also be on hand to share and display information about different countries.

The rain date is Friday, Sept. 23, same time and location.
