Panel explores effective student government at CCU

A panel discussion about student government will be held at Coastal Carolina University on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the James J. Johnson Auditorium (Room 116), located in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be available.

The panel discussion will include students, representatives of the Student Government Association, faculty and administrators who will examine ideas and principles that should guide student government at CCU. The questions presented include: How can student government effectively gather and represent the interests of all students? What can be done to encourage greater student participation in student and university organizations? How can student government make sure that the interests of the students shape the future direction of the university?

The current student government representatives at CCU include Austin Nichols, president; Sabrina Alt, vice president for public relations; Taylor Farrow, vice president of finance; and Matt Denzler, executive vice president.

This Tea & Ethics session is sponsored by CCU's Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values. The purpose of this center is to cultivate and promote awareness in the community of the importance of personal and professional integrity.
