FMU percussionist to perform at CCU

Percussonist Shane Reeves will perform a guest recital on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of Coastal Carolina University's Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. General admission is $7, with CCU discounts available.

Principal percussionist of the Florence Symphony Orchestra and faculty member at Francis Marion University in Florence, Reeves presents an evening of percussion.

Reeves earned a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and a master of music in percussion performance from the University of Florida. He is currently a doctoral candidate in percussion performance/pedagogy at the University of South Carolina. In addition to performing with many symphony orchestras - the Central Florida Symphony, Florence Symphony, Gainesville chamber Orchestra and more - as well as rock and pop groups, Reeves has contributed to a recording of Leonard Bernstein's music for the Naxos label.

The Recital Hall is located in Room 152 in the Edwards College, at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the Conway campus. Visitors may park in lots around the Edwards College.
