CCU’s Saxophone and Low Brass ensembles to perform

Coastal Carolina University's Fall Saxophone Ensemble Concert will take place on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Recital Hall. The Low Brass Ensemble will also perform. General admission tickets are $7.

The Sax Ensemble will perform works by Duke Ellington, Claude Debussy, George Frideric Handel, Ernesto Nazareth, Steve Reisteter, Valentin Hude and Pavel Tchesnokov and others.

The CCU Saxophone Ensemble, directed by Dan O'Reilly of the University's music faculty, is the longest running instrumental chamber music group at CCU. The ensemble will perform a variety of jazz standards, classical compositions and popular songs of today.

The Low Brass Ensemble is under direction of Chris Connolly, a lecturer of music at CCU.

Senior citizens, OLLI members, CCU alumni, teenagers and CCU/HGTC faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $5, and CCU/HGTC students and children may purchase them for $3. To purchase tickets, contact Wheelwright Auditorium at 843-349-ARTS (2787) or visit between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Recital Hall is in Room 152 of Edwards, located at 133 Chanticleer Drive W., on the Conway campus.
