CCU to discuss spiritual diversity on campus

November 14, 2016

Coastal Carolina University will host a panel discussion on "How to Foster a Healthy, Diverse and Inclusive Spiritual Life at CCU," on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 4:30 p.m. in the James J. Johnson Auditorium. The panel discussion is free and open to the public.

The panel will feature representatives of the CCU Chaplain's Council, faculty members and students. Together this group of individuals will discuss the role that interfaith services, as well as spiritual counseling should play in life at the University.

The University has a tradition of incorporating nondenominational and interfaith prayers into public ceremonies so that no one in attendance feels excluded. Recently, the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts developed a new chaplain's council and a denominational and humanist student group. This event will also explore the extent to which traditions like these meet the spiritual needs of today's students.

The Johnson Auditorium is located in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at 119 Chanticleer Drive E. on the main campus.
