Italian pianist Paolo Andre Gualdi to perform at CCU

Italian pianist Paolo Andre Gualdi will perform a concert at Coastal Carolina University on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. in the Edwards Recital Hall on the Conway campus. Tickets are $7, with discounts available.

Gualdi began studying piano with his father at age 5 and continued at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome. His prolific career includes recitals in Italy, the United Kingdom, France and Brazil, and his performances have been featured on radio broadcasts with the BBC, NPR and Radio Vaticana. He earned a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a doctorate of musical arts from the University of Georgia. He is currently an associate professor of music at Francis Marion University. He is the founder and artistic director of the South Carolina Chamber Music Festival.

This concert is the second event in the CCU Guest Artist Piano Series for the spring 2017 season. ChangYong Shin performed on Jan. 14.

CCU/HGTC faculty and staff, senior citizens (65+), OLLI members, CCU alumni and teens (11-17 years) are $5. Children and CCU/HGTC students are $3 with a student ID.

The Edwards Recital Hall is located in Room 152 in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the Conway campus.
