Discrimination is topic of CCU global issues forum

CCU students who attended the  International Student Festival in Trondheim Conference in Norway will present their perspectives on discrimination at a roundtable on March 21.

Coastal Carolina University will host a panel discussion to raise awareness about discrimination on Tuesday, March 21, from 4:20 to 5:40 p.m. in the Kline Hospitality Suite of Brooks Stadium. The public is invited to attend. Public parking is available in the stadium parking lot.

"Perspectives on Global Issues: Roundtable on Discrimination" aims to explore perspectives on discrimination around the world.

This interactive roundtable will feature the perspectives of eight CCU students who just returned from the International Student Festival in Trondheim Conference in Norway, at which more than 400 students from 106 countries discussed discrimination from multiple standpoints.

Faculty speakers include Robert Jenkot, associate professor and chair of the sociology department; and Richard Aidoo, associate professor and assistant dean, and Mariam Dekanozishvili, assistant professor of politics, who accompanied the students to the conference.

Darla Domke Damonte, associate provost for global initiatives and professor of management, will moderate the discussion.
