A discussion on the ethical challenges of refugees in the United States will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the James J. Johnson Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The event is free and open to the public.

The discussion will be lead by CCU faculty member Rochelle Heimann, who has been working with refugees in the U.S. for more than four years. A business owner, Heimann has used her business background to help refugees get on their feet and find work in the United States. Heimann works as a career coach for refugees, hosting mock interviews and providing career counseling.

The main question that the talk will cover is: What kind of obligation does the U.S. have toward refugees? Heimann uses her background working with refugees to argue that faith communities, businesses and community volunteers must band together to help refugees find success.

The lecture is a Tea & Ethics program sponsored by CCU's Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values that aims to make attendees think about their ethical beliefs. The Jackson Family Center is a campus organization that aims to cultivate ethical awareness through thought provoking programs and events.

The Johnson Auditorium is Room 116 of the E. Craig Sr. Wall College of Business Administration, located at 119 Chanticleer Drive E. on the main Conway campus.
