CCU Percussion Ensemble to perform spring concert

The Coastal Carolina University Percussion Ensemble will hold its spring concert on Tuesday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wheelwright Auditorium. Tickets are $7 with discounts available.

The ensemble is made up entirely of percussion instruments, played by music majors and non-majors alike, and is directed by Jesse Willis, CCU assistant professor of music and director of percussion studies. The program for the performance includes 20th century pieces from composers such as John Cage, Carlos Chavez and Steve Rich, as well as recent works from Davis Gillingham, Bob Becker, John Psathas and Michael Burritt. The concert will also feature works by CCU students, faculty and local composers. The event is being sponsored by the Department of Music.

General admission for the performance is $7. Senior citizens, OLLI members, CCU alumni, teens, and CCU/HGTC faculty and staff tickets are $5. Children and CCU/HGTC student tickets are $3.

To purchase tickets, visit the Wheelwright Box Office located at 108 Spadoni Park Circle on the main Conway campus, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased online at coastal.edu/culturalarts or over the phone at 843-349-2787. A $2 convenience fee is applied to all tickets purchased over the phone.
