Tea & Ethics panel engages in interfaith dialogue at CCU

October 23, 2017

A panel discussion titled "Interfaith Dialogue: The Story of Abraham" will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 4:30 p.m. in the James J. Johnson Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. This Tea & Ethics event, hosted by the Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values at CCU, is free and open to the public.

Panel members include Caitlin Czeh, Catholic campus minister for the Coastal Carolina Catholics student ministry group, who will be presenting the Christian perspective, and Alan Todd, lecturer of philosophy and religious studies, who will be presenting the Judaist perspective.

In a discussion designed to prompt constructive interfaith dialogue, this panel of CCU students and faculty will present perspectives on Abraham, one of the most prominent figures in three of the world's major organized religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Tea & Ethics has been the flagship event series of the Jackson Center since 2004.

"Tea and Ethics provides a unique opportunity for open discussion about controversial topics among students, faculty and community members," said Nils Rauhut, professor of philosophy and director of the Jackson Center. "The series is meant to involve students, faculty and community members in discussions about politics, religion, collegiate life and society as a whole."

The Johnson Auditorium is located in Room 116 of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at 119 Chanticleer Drive E. on CCU's main campus. Parking is available in lot R, outside the Brittain Building and adjacent to the Wall Building; for more information, visit coastal.edu/safety/parking.
