CCU Teaching Fellows host Trunk O’ Treat Fall Festival

October 24, 2017

A Trunk O' Treat Fall Festival will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the YY parking lot on S.C. 544, across from The Cove apartment complex near Coastal Carolina University's campus. The event is sponsored by the CCU Teaching Fellows.

The festival includes games, a trunk decorating competition and candy giveaways. To compete in the competition, there is a $10 fee per parking space but the top three trunks will win prizes. There will also be face painting, freeze dancing, Halloween corn-hole and many other activities.

The South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is a scholarship program for qualified South Carolina high school students who wish to earn a degree in education and start their career in South Carolina's public school system following graduation. The program provides a $24,000 scholarship/loan over four years for up to 200 outstanding high school seniors. CCU is one of 13 institutions in the state identified as a Teaching Fellows Institution.

The Teaching Fellows chose the festival as their fall service project to bring the CCU and local community together and promote civic engagement.
