CCU Small Business Development Center hosts free seminar on government contracts

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Coastal Carolina University is sponsoring a free workshop titled Federal Contracting 101 on Wednesday, May 9, from noon to 2 p.m. at the center's office at 642 Century Circle in Conway.

In this interactive workshop, a business opportunity specialist with the Small Business Administration will demonstrate how to begin the process to register in SAM.gov (System for Award Management) and how to navigate the system. Laptops will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may also bring and use their own personal devices.

Participants will also:

Learn about different types of small-business certifications that can increase contracting opportunities.

Learn about the federal government's small-business contracting goals.

Learn about the steps required to bid for federal contracts.

Connect with free resources in the community that can assist in obtaining federal, state and local contracts.
