Coastal Carolina University baseball finished the 2018 season 39-17 and headed into the Sun Belt Tournament this week as the No. 1 seed. The season started on Feb. 16 and saw lots of successes, both on the field and off, from walk-off heroics to academic achievements across both semesters.

Multiple players earned Sun Belt honors through the season, and the middle of the season saw a storybook climax: a grand-slam walk-off win over Clemson to earn head coach Gary Gilmore his 900th win.

Gilmore was named Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, and seven players earned Sun Belt recognition, as well.

Coastal won its first game in the Sun Belt tournament against UT-Arlington 12-2 on May 23, and 16-4 against South Alabama on May 24. They play in the semifinal game on May 26 at 10 a.m.

Here's a look back at where it all started this season!
