Video: Coastal students tackle sea-level rise in role-playing simulation
August 9, 2018
Coastal Carolina University faculty and students are making a difference in Georgetown County in relation to one of the topical issues facing society today. Through the Georgetown R.I.S.E. (resiliency, innovation, sustainability, education) program, 12 CCU students hold internships with businesses and organizations in the public and private sectors in the county to focus on sustainable development.
CCU's Pamela Martin, professor of politics, has helped develop a role-playing simulation, which is designed to guide the county in preparing for climate change and sea-level rise.
Georgetown R.I.S.E. is a United Nations Regional Center of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development. Read more about Martin and the Georgetown R.I.S.E. program here.
