CCU football unveils new equipment trailer

August 27, 2018

Coastal Carolina football has unveiled a brand new equipment trailer with a brand new design that will accompany the Chanticleers on road games in 2018.

Provided by Lewis Truck Lines, the trailer was wrapped by A1 Signs and Graphics in a unique Chanticleer design by Daniel Mableton, a graphic designer in CCU's Office of University Communication.

The trailer is a 53-foot-long Great Dane with a roll door and lift-gate. It contains 4,100 cubic feet of space to haul Coastal football gear.

"Lewis Truck Lines has been a long-time valuable partner to CCU Athletics," said Matt Hogue, athletic director of Chanticleer Athletics. "Owners LeRoy and Dianne LeMaster have stepped up every time to assist with humanitarian and charity efforts organized by our student-athletes and we are so grateful that they have again demonstrated that commitment with this sharp-looking trailer and transportation services."

As the Chants have transitioned to FBS football and the Sun Belt Conference, their need to accommodate the additional equipment needed for away games has grown. Lewis Truck Lines is a local, family-owned business staffed by Chanticleer supporters, and they stepped up to donate a trailer.

"Lewis Truck Lines is excited to be a team player with CCU Athletics. LeRoy and Dianne have been long-time fans of CCU," said Tyler Anthony, executive vice president of Lewis Truck Lines. "With the donation of the CCU trailer, they hope the trailer will support the football team's growth as well as all athletic programs. Lewis Truck Lines is a proud supporter of CCU, and we look forward to CCU's continued growth in educational and athletic programs."

The new truck and trailer will make its first trip of the year over Labor Day Weekend, when it will depart from the Brooks Stadium on Friday, Aug. 31, for Columbia, S.C. The Chanticleers will open their 2018 season against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday, Sept. 1, in a game that will kick off at noon eastern time and be broadcast on the SEC Network.

The Chanticleers open the season at home on Sept. 8 against UAB at 7 p.m. For the rest of the Chanticleer football schedule or tickets, visit GoCCUsports.com.
