"Just So Stories," a musical for children, to be presented at Coastal Carolina University

September 16, 2002

"Just So Stories," a musical for children based on stories by Rudyard Kipling, will be presented by TheatreWorks USA on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium on the Coastal Carolina University campus. Admission is $15; students under the age of 18 will be admitted free.

How did the elephant get his long nose? How did the leopard get his spots? How did the camel get his hump? These are some of the questions that form the basis for these delightfully nonsensical tales about the joy of discovery. "Just So Stories" teaches valuable lessons about accepting change and diversity.

TheatreWorks USA is the nation's largest professional not-for-profit theater for young audiences. Creating, producing and touring plays and musicals, Theatreworks has given many children across the nation their first taste of the live performing arts.

Additional performances of "Just So Stories" are also scheduled for several elementary school audiences from Horry County. Each year Coastal offers children's theater performances to more than 2,000 schoolchildren as part of their school curriculum.
