On March 6, 22 Coastal Carolina University students were inducted into Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology.

Alumna Suzanne Crass, M.S.Ed., was the guest speaker at the induction ceremony, held at the Johnson Auditorium on campus.

Psi Chi was founded in 1929 and is the largest student psychological organization, with chapters around the world, including Canada and New Zealand.

The Coastal Carolina University Chapter of Psi Chi has been active since 1990. Membership in Psi Chi is open to students who are psychology majors or minors and who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a GPA of 3.25 or higher in psychology courses after completing 3 full-time semesters and at least 9 credits of psychology courses.

The students inducted include Jessica Warzel, Michaela Hughes, Jarrod Worley, Hiram Vrolijk, Colin Katchmar, Reagan Grossoehme, Jon-Christopher Fenyo, Michael Spickofsky, Tanner Pauley, Kaitlin Maurer, Essence Lincoln, Brooke Moen, Julia Guarantano, Bryce Puchalski, Gabrielle Sellers, Hannah Cherewko and Madison Myers.

Andrew Terranova, associate professor of psychology, and Marlena Ryba, assistant professor of psychology, are the advisers for the honor society.
