Psychology students present research at regional conference

Four Coastal Carolina University psychology students presented results of their undergraduate research at the Southeastern Psychological Association conference March 20-22, 2019, in Jacksonville, Fla.

The students were Maria Sparacino, Victoria Riley-Lomedico, Diazia Torres-Ferraro, and Hannah Simpson. They were accompanied by faculty mentors Terry Pettijohn, professor of psychology and the chair of the Department of Psychology, and Ryan Yoder, associate professor of psychology.

Students' research topics included:

- The Impact of Stress Ball Density on the Categorization of Sexual Orientation, Race, and the Level of Certainty in College Students

- Effects of Vestibular Dysfunction on Development of the Central Cholinergic System

- The Influence of Wearing a Fitbit on Eating Behaviors while Stressed

- Media Effects on Juror Perceptions of Bite Mark Evidence
