C-SPAN Bus coming to CCU's campus on Nov. 7

On Nov. 7, the C-SPAN Bus, an interactive, multimedia mobile classroom, will be parked in front of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration building. On Nov. 7, the C-SPAN Bus, an interactive, multimedia mobile classroom, will be parked in front of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration building at Coastal Carolina University to provide an inside look at C-SPAN's comprehensive educational and political resources.

Students, faculty, staff, and the community are invited to tour the bus free of charge from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The C-SPAN Bus travels the country to provide a hands-on look at the network's video archives and to promote public access to the political process. On board the bus, visitors can see some of C-SPAN's public affairs event coverage and search through a video library that dates to 1987.

The bus boasts 11 touchscreen tablets, a 360-degree video station, a selfie station, and an onboard studio. Visitors can also take interactive quizzes to test their knowledge about the political process. See it in action here.

A C-SPAN Bus has been traveling around the country since 1993, visiting schools, political events, book festivals, and state capitals. Over the last 25 years, it has been featured at 8,000 events and hosted 1.5 million visitors, including 40,000 teachers and 800,000 students. The bus made a previous stop at CCU in March 2009. C-SPAN was created in 1979 as a public service by the cable television industry.
