Used in the past for situations involving weather emergencies, Coastal Carolina University's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has activated in response to the threat from COVID-19.

The EOC and its members have developed contingency plans for what might happen, but at the moment the concentration is on keeping those who remain on campus safe. Essential staff is in place and there are a number of students who had nowhere else to go, when campus was closed.
