CCU's Grant Center to sponsor virtual international real estate summit

December 4, 2020

Coastal Carolina University's Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics is a lead sponsor for the 39th FIABCI Leadership Summit titled "REimagining the Future." Every year, FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, organizes two global events - the World Real Estate Congress in May and the Leadership Summit (previously Global Business Summit) in December. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's World Real Estate Congress, planned to be held in Manila, Philippines, has been cancelled, and the Leadership Summit will take place in an online format Dec. 9-16, 2020. For more information, visit the FIABCI website.

Robert Salvino, Ph.D., director of CCU's Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics, will be the moderator of the summit's first panel discussion on market trends outlook for 2021. Joining Salvino on the panel are industry leaders Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Carol Hodgson, senior director of global research at Jones Lang LaSalle, and Simon Levy, chairman of Americas Research, CBRE.

According to Salvino, the market outlook discussion will share insights on market trends across real estate sectors on a global level with reference to particular regional and local situations. The audience will be comprised of real estate professionals from all over the world and from different professions related to the real estate industry.

"This event allows experts from the largest commercial real estate organizations in the world to share their views on the future of real estate, both from their company's direct experiences and from their own evaluation of evolving policies where they focus," Salvino said.

According to the FIABCI website, "The Leadership Summit aims to provide real estate professionals with the tools and mindset they need to deal with the ongoing uncertainty while moving forward and staying competitive. From significant insight into the main market trends and investment opportunities to leadership sessions and inspirational keynotes from thought leaders, the summit is sure to bring about change in the way we envision the future."

Founded in 1951 in Paris, FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, is a worldwide business networking organization for all professionals associated with the real estate industry (architects, brokers, developers, investors, managers, and other experts) through its 48 national and multinational chapters in 70 countries. FIABCI holds special consultative status at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. Today, it is the most representative non-political and non-profit organization of the real estate industry in the world.
