CCU recognized with national award for excellence in financial reporting
As stated in the award letter, CCU’s report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
According to GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This national award confirms our commitment to accuracy and transparency in our financial operations,” said CCU President Michael T. Benson. “Our financial leadership team is to be commended for their efforts and this important University recognition.”
As the individual primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning ACFR, Greg Thompson, CCU’s associate vice president of finance and controller, received an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement.
GFOA is a nonprofit association that provides best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
