CCU to hold several 2022 Homecoming activities

CCU alumni and their guests are invited to a TEALgate in Blanton Park from 9:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the game.University President Michael T. Coastal Carolina University continues its celebration of Homecoming 2022 this weekend with several activities, including a parade through downtown Conway, an alumni and friends golf tournament at The Hackler Course, and Chanticleer Football facing off against Old Dominion in Brooks Stadium. This year’s homecoming theme is “Ride the Wave.”

Friday, Oct. 14 events:

Edwards College Homecoming Open House

9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Edwards Building, Brittain Hall, and Prince Lawn

CCU’s Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts will hold its second annual Homecoming Open House. The event will feature art demonstrations, hands-on workshops, musical and theatrical performances, film screenings, lectures, exhibitions, and more. A full schedule of events is available here.

18th annual CCU Homecoming Golf Tournament

10 a.m. shotgun start, The Hackler Course

CCU alumni and friends will compete in a homecoming golf tournament at The Hackler Course. Participants will enjoy a round of golf with cart and compete for awards including tournament champions, longest drive, and closest to the pin. There will also be raffle prizes. The event, which is sold out, is sponsored by Sparks Toyota with brunch provided by Bojangles.

Saturday, Oct. 15 events:

Homecoming Parade

9 a.m., downtown Conway

Members of the campus and Conway communities join together to share their pride for Teal Nation. The parade begins at the intersection of Powell Street and 3rd Avenue. University President Michael T. Benson will serve as the grand marshal, with student organization representatives riding on floats and marching with banners. Groups will be judged on theme title and uniqueness, workmanship, carrying out the theme to the fullest, originality, and overall effect/street appeal.

Homecoming Football Game vs. Old Dominion

Noon, Brooks Stadium

The 6-0 Chanticleers will host new Sun Belt Conference member Old Dominion University on the teal turf in Brooks Stadium. “The Spirit of the Chanticleer” award, which recognizes students from each class who demonstrate excellence in school spirit, will be presented on the field at halftime. Overall winners of the Homecoming competition for each of the categories will also be announced between the third and fourth quarter. Click here for game tickets.
