Ashley Holloway has been named associate vice president for University marketing and communication at CCU.

Higher education marketing professional Ashley Holloway has been named associate vice president for University marketing and communication at Coastal Carolina University, according to Travis E. Overton, vice president for executive initiatives/chief of staff.

Holloway begins her duties on Dec. 5. She will manage the division’s operations and provide supervision for the following units: communication and media relations, creative services, marketing and branding, photography, video production services, and web content management. She also will serve as the University’s spokesperson regarding news and public relations.

“Ashley brings a great deal of experience to the University and will provide transformative leadership for our University Marketing and Communication division,” said Overton. “As CCU embraces the future during an incredibly exciting time, Ashley is the ideal individual to support the incredible work of this division and develop new and innovative approaches for our brand, marketing strategies, and communication.”

Holloway comes to CCU from the University of Georgia, where she is the director of marketing for the school’s Office of Online Learning. She oversees all centrally managed marketing and communication efforts focused on increasing enrollment in online degrees, certificates, and academic courses offered by colleges and schools at UGA.

“Coastal Carolina University’s stellar academic programs, accomplishments, and aspirations are a testament to its dynamic and progressive leadership team,” said Holloway. “I am grateful to President [Michael T.] Benson and the search committee for the opportunity to advance the reputation, brand, mission, and values of the University. Throughout the interview process, I was able to experience the thriving Chanticleer community firsthand. I am excited to join Teal Nation.”

Prior to her tenure with UGA, Holloway worked for 10 years at Liberty University, including serving as the executive director of marketing the last four years. Among her responsibilities were managing external vendor relationships to increase total enrollment, promoting positive public relations through community publications, directing annual athletic brand updates, and partnering with academic departments to engage alumni and advance departmental marketing efforts. She also managed internal and external university branding, photography, videography, and executive-level special projects.

Holloway has earned two degrees from Liberty University: a bachelor’s in worship and music and an MBA.
