Coastal Carolina University student publications win awards

Coastal Carolina University student publications earned honors recently at the National Student Media Convention in Dallas, Texas.

The current issue of Archarios, the student literary and art publication, won a third place design award for its contents page, and Tempo, Coastal's student magazine, won fifth place design awards in the best of show competition.

About 2,700 students from all over the United States attended the conference for two-year junior colleges and four-year universities, sponsored by the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers.

The staff members responsible for the Spring 2003 publication that were honored by the Associated Collegiate Press are:

Tempo art director Yosi Benezra

Archarios editor Andrea Beckerman

Archarios art director E.J. Kerr

Tempo's adviser is Nelljean Rice, associate professor of English and journalism. Archarios' adviser is Paul Olsen, professor of art.
