No Boundaries Week, a series of activities designed to provide service and promote awareness for people with disabilities nationwide, will be held Feb. 2 to 7 at Coastal Carolina University.

The event is a program of Push America, a non-profit national outreach project of Pi Kappa Phi. Push America was founded in 1977 and has raised millions of dollars to aid disabled people, renovate facilities and raise public awareness. Push America is unique in that the program focuses on the abilities of people with disabilities. They raise awareness and contribute to the education and enhancement of communities.

Events throughout the week will include students who take on a disability for a day to gain greater awareness, a puppet show, informational booths, a push-a-thon around Singleton Horseshoe and more. An information table will be set up in the Student Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Here are highlights:

Scaffold Sit on Prince Lawn, starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Members of Pi Kappa Phi will sit on the scaffold until they raise $750 to benefit Push America.

Speaker Mike Gilbert and the Kids on the Block puppet show, 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Edwards Recital Hall.

Balloon Release for Disability Awareness, noon, Thursday, Prince Lawn. The balloons will have words written on them that are not acceptable to use in reference to people with disabilities.

Benefit concert featuring local band Walona, 9:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Williams-Brice Small Gym. Admission $5, proceeds to Push America.
