Coastals Hispanic Heritage Festival to be held Oct. 6

Mexican folk dances and Spanish singers will be the featured entertainment at Coastal Carolina Universitys annual Hispanic Heritage Festival, on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Student Center Deck. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will offer authentic Mexican food, vendors and music from the countries of Central, Latin and South America. Posters, maps and other information will be displayed.

Featured entertainment will be as follows:

Karlox Plata, Mexican romantic singer, 11 to 11:20 a.m.

Paula Pinzon and Shakira, singers, 11:20 to 11:40 a.m.

4th and 5th grade singers from Midland Elementary School, 11:40 a.m. to noon

Ballet Folklorico Hispano-Americano, performing six different dances, noon to 1:30 p.m.

Spanish Corro, singers, 1:30 to 2 p.m.
