Student Transitions and Family Programs


Fostering successful transitions for all Coastal Carolina students and their family members. 

Mission Statement 

As a team of dedicated orientation, transition, and retention professionals, Student Transitions and Family Programs (STFP) supports the transition and integration of all students and families during their journeys to, through, and out of the Coastal Carolina University experience. Through the creation of opportunities for discovery, engagement, connection, and reflection, STFP fosters developmental growth and confidence by reinforcing the importance of student responsibility, ownership of learning, and investment in one’s own success while partnering with and promoting community among families.

Core Values 

In order to support the successful transition of students and families, STFP values and is dedicated to: 

  • Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports the formation of a sense of belonging for all 
  • Facilitating opportunities for experiential learning and application of knowledge 
  • Recruiting a diverse group of students in order to train and develop a competent, knowledgeable, and inclusive team of student leaders  
  • Creating and developing efficient and fiscally responsible programs and services  
  • Collaborating with campus partners and community constituents

Cash Course: Financial Fundamentals Series

Join us for our financial wellness series "Cash Course," a partnership with Truist Bank, for practical and beneficial lessons for your financial future. All workshops will be conducted virtually.

Wednesday, September 21 at noon - Bank Accounts 101

"Budgeting is the stepping stone to successfully managing your finances. Join us for a virtual information session to establish needs and wants, review the best budgeting tools, and understand the importance budgeting plays in your future and reaching financial goals."

Wednesday, October 26 at noon - Credit 101

"Successfully plan for your future in the upcoming Credit 101 webinar with Truist. This session is built to help you learn the difference between your credit report and your credit score, understand the best way to pull your credit report and free tools that provide your credit score, and gain knowledge on why credit scores play such an important role in your financial life."
