Relaxation Room

Throughout Teal Nation Welcome we will be providing a relaxation room in Lib Jackson Student Union A-107 for those who would like to step away at any point in the schedule or relax between events

During this event students will be putting together floral arrangements for their room.

Seating will be available. Students will have the option to sit together and if socialize if they choose.

Light music will be playing on a speaker so feel free to wear your personal headphones.

Students will be painting a mural and collaborating with the artist to create a larger image.

To paint the wall, students will most likely be standing for a majority of the process. Seating will be available per request.

Multiple students can paint at a time so they may interact with others and share close proximity.

The event features a portable ice-skating rink. Skating will require students to wear ice skates and participate in a lot of movement. There will be a railing for students to hold on to while they skate. Seating will be available for those who would like to be present and not skate.

Music will be playing so feel free to wear your own personal headphones.

This is a large-scale event with around 300 students in attendance. Students may choose to engage socially.

Students will be asked to bring a copy of their course schedule so orientation staff can take them to their class locations.

They will be engaging in one-on-on conversations with orientation leaders.

Golf carts will be available for students if they require assistance navigating campus.

The photo is taken on the football field. In August it will be very hot, and it is acceptable for students to sit on the field if they need to get off of their feet. If at any time students need to step away orientation staff will be available to assist them.

Chanting and cheering will be taking place while students are on the field. Students can wear their personal headphones or step away if they do not want to participate.

The tradition is centered around students strutting under the Atheneum structure. Ramps and railings will be in place so students will not need to use stairs to participate.
