Decker was named the Undergraduate Outstanding Accounting Student in 2011-2012 and is a recipient of the Garth and Emma Jo Edwards Memorial Prize in Accounting.

Michael L. Decker is from Deposit, New York, and is in the Master of Accountancy program at Coastal Carolina University. He has an associate degree in computer science from Broome Community College, a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Binghamton University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from CCU. He was named the Undergraduate Outstanding Accounting Student in 2011-2012 and is a recipient of the Garth and Emma Jo Edwards Memorial Prize in Accounting. Decker is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for finance, and Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for business. He has been accepted to the Ph.D. program for accounting at Florida Atlantic University and plans to become an accounting professor after earning his Ph.D.
