The TD Campus and Community Sustainability Initiative, also known as Sustain Coastal, is committed to transforming Coastal Carolina University into an environmentally sustainable university through campus operations, student curriculum, engaging students through learning and outreach, and collaboration in the community through sustainable stewardship of resources.

AASHE STARS Silver Rating

Coastal Carolina University has earned a STARS Silver rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System, is the most widely-recognized and comprehensive self-assessment tool used by higher education institutions to measure their sustainability progress.

Through raising awareness about the SDGs, we are providing our campus community with a shared, common understanding and framework for collaboration in building a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable CCU.
