Contract Charter Bus Rentals 

A University wide charter service agreement is in place with Carolina Limousine & Coach.  They provide bus service to CCU groups for over-the-road travel.

What vehicles are available to rent from Carolina Limo?

Carolina Limo offers 56 passenger motor coaches as well as 29+ passenger buses and 19+ passenger buses.

What are the rental rates?

2022 – 2023 Rates:

56 passenger Motor Coach:      Full Day: $1,275.00   Half Day:  $750.00

29+ passenger Motor Coach:    Full Day: $1,175.00   Half Day:  $650.00

19+ passenger Medium Bus:     Full Day: $1,175.00   Half Day:  $650.00

         * $3.75/mile will be added for trips over 600 miles

 Relay Driver:  $375.00

What is included in a charter bus rental?

The Charter bus rental, a CDL driver and fuel are included in the rental rate. Additional charges that may be incurred, ie. tolls, parking, etc., will be added to the cost.

Is an itinerary required?

An itinerary is required for each trip and is to be provided no later than two weeks in advance of the departure date.

Pick-up and drop-off locations should be identified. Each day of your trip should be detailed with every stop, time of stop and address. Group leader contact information and hotel information needs to be listed as well.

Will I need to provide a hotel room for the driver if the trip is overnight?

Yes. A hotel room for each driver is the responsibility of the renter when traveling overnight or for a trip that exceeds the driver’s 15-hour on-duty limit.

How long can my driver be on duty?

According to Federal DOT guidelines, a driver can drive no more than 10 hours per day and can be on-duty no more than 15 hours total per day.

How do I change or cancel a reservation?

You must contact Carolina Limo & Coach at 843-294-5466 for reservation modification or cancellation. Cancellations not made within 48 hours of trip departure will be charged 50% of trip fare.

How does our group pay for the charter bus rental?

Reservations will be paid by Transportation Services and charged back to the CCU Cost Center Account number you provide in your reservation request.  When the trip is complete, the Trip Requestor must confirm its completion to Transportation Services at bus@coastal.edu for payment processing to Carolina Limo.
