Biography

Chris Bailey has enjoyed a lifetime in media. He worked in television over 40 years, the last 25 as Vice President-General Manager for TV stations in Myrtle Beach; Columbia, South Carolina; Huntsville, Alabama and Lincoln, Nebraska. He was also General Manager for a Myrtle Beach radio group. Attending Drury University in his native Springfield, Missouri, Chris had his first on-air experience working in the campus radio station and was then hired by KTXR-FM and KMTC-TV in Springfield. Working as a staff announcer, he later worked his way up to radio News Director. On the television side he worked as a sports producer, reporter, Sports Director and News Anchor-Producer. Chris returned to school later in life, earning his BA in Communication at Columbia College and his Master of Mass Communication-Journalism from the University of South Carolina in 2017. He was a journalism mentor and later adjunct faculty at South Carolina. Chris and Lynda live in Myrtle Beach with their Yorkie Poo Baxter. They have five children and ten grandchildren. He is a self-professed below-average golfer.
