Jarius Mcmillian
Name: Jarius Mcmillian
Hometown: Orlando, Fla.
Year in School: Senior
Major: Marketing
The first thing you need to know about Jarius Mcmillian is that he likes people. The senior student from Orlando will even specifically mention the people at Coastal Carolina as a group he especially loves. As he begins his fourth year as a Chanticleer, the outgoing personality of Jarius has really clicked with the campus community.
Besides his effortless connection with others, there are a few specific things you should know about Jarius…
First, he is good at using his body. The recipient of a football scholarship, this is Jarius’ fourth season on the Coastal football team. A key member on several of the special teams units, Jarius stated that the best part about the start of fall semester is the opportunity to transfer all the hard work from the offseason to the field in meaningful games.
Second, he is great at using his hands. Jarius worked in the Outdoor Recreation Center as a bike tech. One might think that a student-athlete is confined to either the classroom or the practice/playing field at all times but Jarius has managed to distinguish himself in an on-campus position that takes considerable skill.
Finally, he is the best at listening. Don’t let his fun demeanor fool you, Jarius will always open his ears before opening his mouth.
“You have a lot of people on this earth and around you who sincerely care about your well-being,” Jarius told us in his interview, “if you just listen you can avoid a lot of mistakes and make good choices.”
Pretty well-rounded individual, wouldn’t you say?
