The Coastal Carolina University Bicycle Advisory Council will host the Horry County Trail Summit on Wednesday, May 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lib Jackson Student Union. The event will explore projects whose progress could foster sustainable development in Horry County with a proposed rail trail and the East Coast Greenway.

The summit’s goal is to identify trail needs, implementation challenges, and pre-construction requirements that will lead to shovel-ready trail projects. The gathering will include city municipal recreation planners, college and university representatives, and state and regional multi-modal transportation planners.

The summit will also feature activities and booth exhibits, panel presentations, and breakout sessions. The summit will conclude with an optional bike ride to downtown Conway.
