Welcome New Faculty
The Center for Teaching Excellence to Advance Learning (CeTEAL) welcomes you to Coastal Carolina University. As your faculty development center, we are here to help you transition into your faculty role at CCU, and to provide professional development throughout your career related to teaching, research and service. CeTEAL provides the following orientations and sessions for new faculty.
The orientations are designed to introduce you to Coastal Carolina University and provide you with information about important offices on campus that will contribute to your success and the success of your students.
New Faculty Orientation
New Faculty Orientation 2020, Monday, August 17
New Faculty Orientation is held each August, prior to the start of class, for all new full-time, tenure track faculty, lecturers and visiting assistant professors. Highlights of the one-day orientation include networking with new faculty colleagues, meeting meet university leaders, and engaging with many departments from across campus.
The engaging format includes student and faculty panel discussions, presentations, breakout sessions, lunch with your dean, and an expo-style fair with over 35 offices from around campus. You will even get to meet our unique university mascot, the Chanticleer, affectionately called Chauncey.

Teaching and Technology Week
Teaching and Technology Week August 10-14
Teaching and Technology Week is open to all CCU full-time and part-time faculty. These sessions including a variety of topics to enhance your teaching and familiarize you with CCU campus technologies. All faculty are welcome and the sessions are optional.
